Julia Solano is a designer, researcher, and artist deeply curious about relationality and building systems to meet community needs – not the other way around. She is Community Architect for The Tech We Want, where she leads Information and Knowledge Management and Visual Storytelling.
Previously she was part of Omidyar Network’s Exploration and Future Sensing Lab where she launched the Community Infrastructure Fund for Mutual Aid and focused on immersive experience, speculative storytelling, and participatory grant making.
When she’s not thinking about systems and futures, she can be found plein air painting or building bamboo and earth structures for festivals and land-based projects around the world.
A seven-part conversation series from The Tech We Want and Color Farm Media, hosted by Erika Alexander, about the fine print we keep signing with tech, and how we set better terms.
