Our Context

Since August 2021, we have been convening and conversing with funders, activists, organizers, technologists, and policymakers to address and reimagine a responsible tech ecosystem that prioritizes human thriving.

We’re learning in public, and you’re our study buddies.

Along the way, we have made many assumptions and pivots. The interactive timeline below captures some of the key learnings we have unearthed. Our timeline’s intention? Show, not tell, and bring folks along in the journey who may be future co-conspirators. We also built this as part of our commitment to learning in public.

Why We Created This

Let’s be clear: coalition building takes work and compromise. Transparency, accountability, and navigating the dynamics of power in the rooms where we are convening require us to pivot, make assumptions, and test our hunches. This interactive timeline is our way of sharing that process for the benefit of the people attempting to do this work and, if we’re lucky, finding some fellow world-builders along the way.

Our impact over the years is a testament that the world is ready for a reshaped narrative around technology. The future of tech centers around amplifying traditionally underrepresented communities, building coalitions among those communities, and providing opportunities for connection and collaboration.
