Why do we show up at film festivals?
The stories we tell about technology shape the technology we build. That’s why The Tech We Want goes to Sundance: because cultural change precedes policy change, and the future of tech is being imagined right now in the space between artists, activists, and innovators.
While much of the tech world focuses on what’s technically possible, we gather alongside storytellers to ask what’s culturally necessary. Here, filmmakers and funders share a table. Ethics and innovation share a screen. And the narrative about technology’s role in our lives gets rewritten in real time.

Since 2025, The Tech We Want has built a home at Sundance’s Impact Lounge: a strategic cultural hub where decision-makers meet storytellers and where our vision of responsible tech finds its most imaginative audience.
